    Part of the problem with my Yiddish internatinalization is in
    src/wp/ap/unix/ap_UnixPrefs.cpp:91, where lc_ctype is set based on the
    LC_MESSAGES value in the locale. It is always getting "C" as the result no
    matter how I set my environment. So I disabled that branch of the #if and let
    AbiWord use getenv("LANG") instead.

    Now I get farther; AbiWord reads my strings file. But it fails in
    src/af/xap/xp/xap_Strings.cpp:100 where it finds a[1]="" for lots and lots of
    attributes. I don't understand the code well enough to proceed.
