Confirmed using 1.99.2 on Windows 98SE. Steps to reproduce problem:
1. In a text editor, write lines of the form <tab>text<enter>
2. Start AbiWord 1.99.2
3. Copy text from text editor and paste in AbiWord. Pasted text is smooshed.
4. Change Abi zoom level, or show formatting marks. Text display is corrected.
Added "for paras starting with tab" to Summary. Changing Platform and OS to All.
"smooshed" == "all characters are drawn on top of each other"
