I'm not a programmer, I'm an engineer :)
Future targets:
1. Getting Malay hash for Ispell, so that AbiSpell dictionary for Malay can be built.
2. Create nsh2po/po2nsh script to convert NSIS language file to po format for easy translation. This target forced me to learn programming :)

Subject: Re: ambitions of Abi-word
Hi everybody,
Well my own priorities are:
1. Make AbiWord's current features "Just Work".
2. Implement AbiCollab - real-time document collaboration and
preparation.
3. Implement AbiDash - real-time intelligent search.
Implementing these will distinguish AbiWord from other Document
construction tools.
That said, AbiWord boasts a number of very talented developers who may
well (actually they definitely do :-)) have different priorities.
Some other things that I'd love to see are (the numbers are the order in
which I think of things to write):
1. pluggable pango-based graphics class for complex scripts (Like Indix
and Thai languaes.)
2. AbiWord-lib so that AbiWord can be easily embedded in other apps.
3. Full integration with libgsf so that AbiWord can load and store
documents transparently over a network.
4. Speed-ups for large documents. A fair bit of the problems have been
identified and placed on our wiki.
5. Finish the remaining table features (sort tables rows/columns, repeat
rows on different pages).
6. Graphical Math editor.
7. More embedable file types, particularly Gnumeric.
8. Full svg integration.
9. Maybe auto-word complete (if it's done right).
10. Comments.
11. Cross references.
12. Read/write Maths to/from MS Word and RTF.
13. Split screen.
14. sub-pixel text positioning.
So there is plenty to keep us busy. I have no idea how much we'll
complete for 2.6.
What gets done depends on how much time and how motivated the AbiWord
team is.
Cheers
Martin
