I tried to recompile buildhash with the patch you provided, and after some twisting (Ispell is now in version 3.3.02) I managed to make it work; however, the hash files compiled even with the patch still don't work with AbiWord on Win32. It seems that the binary hash files are simply incompatible and depend on architecture of building and other stuff, as discussed in other mailing lists. So I'm giving up in the hope that you guys get Enchant to work on Win32.

By the way, I was trying to build Enchant for Win32 on MinGW 3.4.5

Thanks, anyway,
