Re: Concern about translations

I apologize to all for my inattentiveness to L10n issues recently, I
have been out-of-state, staying with my elderly mother and taking here
to her daily radiation treatments for a recurrence fo the cancer we
has so much hoped she had defeated.

I am back home at present and have access to the tools Icoudl not
take with me and I will make every efffort to address your concerns
and questions as soon as I can, but I wanted to get this message out
as quickly as I could.

I apologize for the confusion created by an exploration of modifying
the L10n workflow, I hope you can choose to read Simon's message not
as a rebuke, which I do not think it was intended to be, but as a
welcome attempt to inform the community of contributions he has made
to the process of turning more control over to localizers over the
submission and commitment of translations.

Now that we have a method for the post-processing of PO files into the
.strings files required by AbiWord, (thanks Simon) we are one step
closer to placing complete control for submission of PO files to CVS
into the hands of language administrators working through the Pootle
interface.

I will try to answer any questions anyone has about how this will
operate when fully established and I again sincerely regret the
disruption caused by these attempts to convert a highly manual system
(fire and all too often forget) into one that will give you much more
control over the appearance of your work in AbiWord. I am committed
to addressing the conce5rns of localizers and developers to achieve a
better and more transparent process that is properly documented.
