It isn't just Omega, almost all the greek alphabets do not work.

I tried to see what the problem was, and as Jean said the Mathml
string is generated correctly and loaded into mathview in
fp_mathview.cpp.

However, I'm not sure how the following projects work-
http://numerator.sourceforge.net/first_rendering.php
http://mathshield.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html

They render Greek alphabets correctly, and the GtkMathView website
lists them as projects using GtkMathView.
