grab abi, expat, zlib, and libpng from our cvs (or
from the tarballs) and put them as peers under a
common directory.

.../work/abi
.../work/expat
.../work/zlib
.../work/libpng

then cd to abi and type make. the makefile in abi
will take care of building the others as necessary.
