Indeed this is the situation, I make development releases pretty much in sync
with the major posts about new features and api changes that I send here. At
a max the abi tree is only 1 minor version in the future of the devel release,
the abi tree always has the latest version, to build abi I would reccomend that
the cvs wv be used, though you can find redhat 5.2 rpms which Ryan Weaver makes
immediately on each release (he must have a watch set on the web download page)
The libwv released with mswordview (the old stable version) is horrifically out
of date and utterly useless. I hope soon (week or two) to make the development
version the stable version and announce it and finally put mswordview itself to
the sword. Pictures are the remaining bugbear and will be sorted out soon to
my satisfaction, while the graphics are not fully extracted in wv yet I have
completed the html positioning of them pretty much to my satisfaction and am
working on stylesheets and graphic extraction + some wonderful bugfixing at the
moment.
