I'm pretty sure it's a valid svg file. I know that Justin's code does not
actually display SVG files, it just has one hardcoded green diamond. I'm
not sure if that's what's causing the problem.

A small SVG file is:

<svg width="4cm" height="8cm">
  <ellipse cx="2cm" cy="4cm" rx="2cm" ry="1cm" />
</svg>

It should work in our code (the size should even be right, even though you
still see the diamond).

Also, the W3C SVG Working Group released a new spec [1] on 6/29, so we
will need to check to see that everything still works. The example is
from said spec, but it's pretty trivial. For a list of changes, see [2].
