Some more info on this:
The first time I insert a page break, I get about 32 asserts, mostly of
the type you mentioned, but also

**** (2) m_iHeightLayoutUnits at fp_Line.cpp:391 ****

Further page breaks do not cause asserts, but if you delete a page break,
you get about five more FP_RUN_NOT asserts. I'll look into this more
later.
