To be honest, I know nothing about EMF, but I would certainly like to
implement this. It's how I ended up working on libwmf in the first place.

I was looking at this (Duncan Lock pointed me here). From what I can
tell, this is not a solution except for _very_small_ (<1k) images.

Which is not to say that we can't use this mechanism. If we make the
assumption that AbiWord or ImageMagick or whatever can handle arbitrarily
long hyperlinks then certainly we can, but it cannot be the only or the
default mechanism.
