Dont ask the user too many questions, it is as annoying as making too many
assumptions, either way the user does not feel in control.

As Jordi said this seems like a huge amount of effort especially
considering differnt versions of Word dont even manage to get the
layout right and they have the source code.
Of course if you are volunteer to do the work then that is great, 'it is
all good' and i wish you the best of luck.

PS watched the Anime movie 'Metropolis', a good movie (in
