    Hi guys,

please have a look at bug #6081
    (http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6081) from a chap at
Iomega suggesting that we enable AbiWord for use with the Iomega
Active Disk (AD further). (The AD is a win32 thing, but the issue is
    bigger than just win32)

The basic idea behind the AD is that you have an Iomega disk (zip,
CD, etc) that contains files and applications, with the applications
runing seamlessly from the disk as it is carried from a machine to
machine without leaving traces behind on the machines; Iomega
provides SDK to enable applications for the AD.

I think we should seriously consider enabling the win32 version for the
AD because it would provide us with massive publicity exposure,
particularly as with regard to limited capacity portable media AW's
small footprint means we could easily be the only fullfeatured
wordprocessor usable with the AD techonology (i.e., you could not
really run MS Word or OO from 100MB disk, could you?!).

I would be prepared to do the coding, but the real issue is whether (a)
the AD licence is both compatible with the GPL, and (b) whether it is
acceptable to us. I have attached the full text of the SDK licence to the
bug report; if folk could have a look at this and we could have a
    (civilised) discussion please.

    Tomas
