Well the bad news is that I couldn't reproduce your problem ...

I'd have a hard time believing that this is the case. The
file io stuff is pretty straighforward.

I took a look at this this morning ... and again I don't think
that this is the problem. This is just an import/exporter
for compressed files and shouldn't even come into play when
you are opening up regular AbiWord files.

Did you do a full make clean to get things going ... is
this on PPC or on x86 (I've been doing my tests on my
x86 box since my PPC box has gone away recently). What
problems were you having compiling that Dan helped you
out with?

Tonnes of big improvements on the BeOS side of things
since 0.7.6 (which was unusable) so I'd really like
to get a better grasp of the problems you are seeing.
